Two Weeks in

We're almost two weeks into the recording. Drums are done. Bass is done. Daniel Fickle's guitar parts are done for the most part. We've got three songs down for Dan Ryan and once we get back to the cabin that's what we'll be finishing today.

I hope to write more about the essence of this experience because it's unlike anything else that's ever happened to me or to all of us. It's a real case of living the dream where our job is to wake up and play music. Be it only for one short month, but still it feel pretty amazing.

It's hard too, but why talk about that? I'm at a public library I don't have time to talk about our hardships.

In other news I found the swimming pool today and it was refreshing.

PS> We've got a pretty intensive photo journal to share when I have more than 5 minutes on the internet.

The Beat Goes On

We are nearly finished with tracking drums. The past 4 days since we arrived at the cabin have been flush with setting up an entire studio on a shoe-string budget, learning how the rooms sound and finally beginning the album with Daniel Whitt's stellar drum work. So far we've tracked 8 songs with 4 more to go.

Working together as a band on a daily basis is a pretty new concept to all of us in one way shape or form. It's sort of like any other job, but so rewarding and amazing when it's something you love so much. We're all having the time of our lives and it makes going through the business/logistics side of it much easier.

Right now I'm in Atlanta with my parents picking up our new computer and then making my way to the new Ikea before heading back down to the cabin. We're not sure when/if we're getting internet so these posts might be more sporatic than anticipated. We'll have more updates (with pictures!) this weekend for sure.

That's all for now.

Hey!
